The verdict is out on Jeremy Ménez and the Frenchman is likely to miss 4 to 6 months due to his new injury. Last weekend Ménez suffered an injury in Club America’s 3-2 win against Pachuca in a preseason friendly. The Frenchman picked up the injury in the 86 min of the match after loosing his footing running towards the opponent player, which lead him to fall and land on his left knee, a knee that has caused him so many problems in his career.

Club America announce the injury of Ménez on their social media platforms informing that their player has a rupture in his anterior cruciate ligament. This was diagnosed after Ménez had flown back to Mexico and was looked at by specialist.

With Club America’s new number 7 down and out for most of the first half of the season (missing if not all most of the Apertura 2018) questions will be asked by so many what will the club do now? Miguel Herrera was content with his squad prior to the injury, and whether or not he will seek a replacement for the Frenchman will be yet to be seen. Ménez was looking to be the outstanding player this season for Las Aguilas but will now have a steep road to recovery. A player many fans expected to outdo his first season at Club America, but now will have to make do with out him. Does this leave an opening for wonder-boy Diego Lainez in the starting XI? Only time will tell what Miguel Herrera’s plan is moving forward. But with out question this injury is a big blow to the team.
